Spring Cleanup Day

About twenty people came to the club clean up and worked hard to improve the facility. Some worked all day. If you have been to the club since then you must have noticed some of the improvements including the tire wall between the hand gun ranges. Special thanks go to Alan for running the heavy equipment that made the new wall possible and Bub's Barbeque for the excellant eats. We cannot thank all of these people enough for their devotion to the club.

If you didn't participate please try to next time so that the work can be spread around more people thereby making it easier on everyone. Everyone there had chores at home that they could have been doing instead.

New Source for Ammo and Firearms

New Skeet Machines Installed

A great group of people helped to install two new skeet machines at the club Saturday (1/5). The machines should be up and running soon. Thanks to all who helped out.

Club Email

From time to time the club sends out email to club members who have provided an email address. Nearly 50% of this mail is returned undelivered. There are several reasons for this:
You changed your email address
Please send Alan your new email address. Just send an email to Alan@MackinInc.com with the subject "New email address".
Your email server blocks unknown senders
Please update your allowed senders to include
We incorrectly recorded your email address
If you suspect that this is the case, just send an email to Alan@MackinInc.com with the subject "New email address".

Alarm System

If you have trouble with the alarm system or the gate to the club, call Alan at 413-834-1692.

The new Sonitrol alarm system is basically up and running. The fobs from the previous alarm company do not work in the new system. The old fobs must be returned to Alan Lambert. Each paid member will have to be issued a new Sonitrol fob by Alan. Each paid member will also be issued a personal numbered code. Each paid member will be taught how to use the new system. Until the new fobs are issued, security operations will remain the same as they have recently been. The new system will provide much needed security to the club.

If any paid member with a new fob has any problems with the gate operation, the first thing one should do is to make sure that your fob is being accepted by the system by watching the light on the reader and making sure it turns green and stays green not turns right back to red. Some of the older fobs with the printing on them have not been working lately. All paid members MUST receive the new fob and instructions. Please no excuses, make the commitment and get your fob. Alan's cell phone number is 413-834-1692. Please do not call after 9 PM. Please do not visit Alan at his residence for your fob. You can call Alan on his cell phone for information. Thank you for you patience and commitment to the club.

The gate has been freezing or sticking recently due to the weather and it might need a little shaking to loosen it. Feel free to shovel it out but be careful of the plastic piping going into the gate opener. The gate needs to be shoveled out at a regular schedule. Volunteers please contact Alan.

Conservation Law Enforcement Program

Since the program's beginning in 1989, more than 500 students have graduated. Many have found employment as law enforcement or conservation officers at state and national parks across the U.S., with the MA. Environmental Police, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S Forest Service, and as wardens with state and fish and game departments.

Our 50 instructors have years of experience in all phases of Natural Resource Law Enforcement. They include current or retired National or State Park Rangers, MA. Environmental Police Officers, State Police Officers, officials with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Forest Services, and UMASS Amherst faculty.

This nationally recognized program provides 400 hours of professional and specialized instruction and practice, over a six month period for students who want to become resource oriented enforcement officers in a state or federal environmental agency.

Indoor Range Fixed

As of 7-10-2007 the indoor range has been repaired and reopened. A huge thank you to all who helped. It was a large effort that could have been a lot easier if everyone who uses the range followed some simple rules. At this time, there is more damage going on than most realize and it is costing the club a hell of a lot of money and labor hours.

Please do not keep shooting in the same spot over and over, until you have bored a huge hole into the rubber sheeting. Just spread it out a little.

Please do not shoot into the ceiling or into the wood on the bottom of the rubber backstop. There is still too much damage being done.

Everyone needs to help keep the indoor range clean and safe.

We need volunteers to help with the mowing. Please email Ray Samson or call him at 665-3711 if you are willing.

New Manual Trap Machine

Bruce Hefflon from the Montague Ammo Depot has donated a new manual trap machine to the club. It is now up and running for any club member that wants to use it. Please return it into the building when you are done. (If any malfunctions occur, please contact Bruce at his store (413-775-9992).) Make sure to say thanks to Bruce when you see him.

Non-Member Sign In

As decided by the Board of Directors and to comply with club insurance demands; Any / All non-members of the FCLSC INC. that enter club property for whatever reason, must complete a new, temporary one-day membership form. These forms are currently being printed and will be available shortly at the clubhouse and other locations to be announced. Since this is a members-only club, non-members must technically join for the day to legally be on club grounds. The host member must insure that these forms are completed properly. Save all completed forms for Alan Lambert. Anyone who has any questions or concerns about this matter should contact a Board of Director member immediately.

Rifle Range

Please shoot at breakable targets on the newly opened 100 yd. line. Remember, only authorized targets, clay birds, water jugs, but clean up your mess after.

Please leave the left side of the 100 yd line with the cables for the paper target shooters. Please do not shoot at the cable or poles.
