Club Rules, Regulations, and Policies

PURPOSE

Members

• This is a members-only club as voted and approved by the BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
• A current member may bring a guest only after properly completing the 1 day temporary form provided inside the clubhouse, and pay the proper range fee.
• The guest shall remain with the member while on the property, and the member shall be totally responsible for the guest while on club property.
• The member shall not repeatedly bring the same guest.
• The member should bring only one guest at a time since the member shall be responsible for each guest.
• Each and every member shall properly complete a new membership form when renewing their membership, and deliver it to the membership director along with the proper dues payment.
• By vote of the club, there shall be no prorated memberships.
• Each and every member shall, for the benefit of the club, perform an annual minimum of 4 hours of donated work or an equivalent monetary donation to the club, as stated on the membership form, or face possible expulsion from the club.
• Any injury or damage that happens on club property must be reported to a board of director member immediately.

Non-members

• All persons, who are not guests of a member or guests of the club (i.e. general public shooting Trap and Skeet, or participating in a Turkey Shoot) shall follow all rules, regulations, laws, and policies of the Franklin Country Sportsmen's Club specified here and shall be provided a copy of this document for their information at no charge.
• If at any time while on club property, anyone, who chooses not to follow these rules, regulations, or policies of the club, will be asked to leave and not return. If necessary, they will be escorted off the premises.

ALARM SYSTEM

• All currently paid members shall be issued an electronic fob that will allow them access to the grounds and the clubhouse.
• There shall be a $10.00 replacement fee for any lost or damaged fob.
• If at any time a member cannot access the alarm system; (i.e. front gate, main club house door) with his or her fob the member shall contact the Membership Director, (413-834-1692), at a reasonable time to manage the situation.
• If at any time a fob does not seem to work, please do not ever press any of the buttons on the panels as this will complicate the problem.
• After any type of inclement weather, if a member finds that his or her fob does not seem to work, there might be other existing problems that need immediate attention.
• If the fob does not work, please do not try and forceably open the gate or main clubhouse door as this will surely cause damage. Please contact Alan or a board member as soon as possible. Your fob might not work becuse it has been deactivated due to a lapse in your membership.
• All members shall be responsible to maintain current membership in the club to keep their fob active, as it will not be the responsibility of the club to send out renewal forms or mailings to remind members to re-join.
• Do not ever loan a club fob to a non member.

Alcohol and Drugs

• There is ZERO TOLERANCE for any possession or use of ANY illegal drug(s) while on club property.
• There is ZERO TOLERANCE for any one under the influence of any such illegal drug or alcoholic beverage while on club property. This also includes prescription medicine.
• The only place permitted for the consumption of an alcoholic beverage is upstairs, inside the main clubhouse or outside of the main clubhouse on the cement porch.
• Alcoholic beverages shall not be consumed before shooting any firearms, or operating any motor vehicles.
• No person, member or not, is permitted to consume any alcoholic beverage beyond any legal limit regarding intoxication.
• No person, member or not, is allowed to operate any motor vehicle while on club property after being presumed to be under the influence of alcoholics.
• There is ZERO TOLERANCE for anyone who fails to totally abide by these rules.

Vehicles and Licenses

• Each and every vehicle that enters the property of the club shall be properly registered, insured, and operated safely at all times.
• Members or guests that operate motor vehicles while on the property of the club shall be properly licensed to operate their respective motor vehicles.
• All vehicles shall drive only on the existing roadways and park only on the designated parking lots, not on the lawn.
• Any vehicular accidents shall be reported to a Board Member and, if any injury is the result of the accident, the Deerfield Police along with any necessary emergency vehicles.

Club House

• No smoking is allowed in the clubhouse.
• The club house, (i.e. tables, chairs, bathroom, floors, walls and kitchen facilities), shall be maintained in a clean and healthy condition by the membership at all times.
• It shall be the total responsibility of any group or entity that uses or rents the club house or the facilities for any reason to properly clean and return the condition of the club house as it was before the event took place.
• A representative of the group or entity and a representative of the club will inspect the club house and note the condition(s) before and after any event.
• A monetary fee or mandatory work, shall be levied against any group or entity that does not return the club house to a clean and safe condition after their event. This requirement shall be made known to any entity or group beforehand.

Indoor Range

• All shooters shall properly wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment while using the range.
• Please always be aware of other shooters and onlookers to make sure that they are properly wearing their Personal Protection Equipment before you fire.
• Only Board of Director approved targets shall be used in the Indoor Range. There is zero tolerance for the use of any other targets. All targets shall be approved by the Board of Directors before use. This basically means paper or cardboard targets only. Please properly dispose of used targets.
• No tracer, incendiary, penetrator, or explosive bullets are allowed.
• PLEASE be very careful when operating the target movers. Go slowly.
• Only Massachusetts compliant handguns, magazines, and .22 rifles shall be used in the Indoor Range.
• DO NOT shoot into the ceiling or the floor or the walls or the posts.
• Shoot so that the bullet goes safely into only the rubber backstop.
• Do not hang targets higher than the target holders or shoot high into the rubber backstop.
• If you desire to shoot at a target up close, do not move the target closer to you while you stand in the booth as the bullets then will hit the floor. Only if safe to do so, enter the range and shoot at the target while it is all the way back to the rubber berm so the bullet(s) safely go into the backstop.
• Do not enter the indoor range if unsafe to do so while others are shooting.
• If any damage occurs to the indoor range while shooting, the damage shall be reported to a member of the Board of Directors.
• The Indoor Range needs to be kept as clean as possible from lead contamination. If a member, guest, group or entity does not clean the range after using it a monetary fee or mandatory work shall be levied against them.
• The ventilation system shall be used at all times.

Outdoor Handgun Ranges

• All shooters shall properly wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment while using the range.
• Please always be aware of other shooters and onlookers to make sure that they are properly wearing their Personal Protection Equipment before you fire.
• Never leave the firing line to retrieve or install a target until completely safe to do so.
• Only Board of Director approved targets shall be used in the outdoor handgun ranges. There is zero tolerance for the use of any other targets. All targets shall be approved by the Board of Directors before use. This basically means paper & cardboard targets, bowling pins and approved metal targets.
• Only Massachusetts compliant handguns, magazines, and .22 rifles shall be used at the Outdoor Handgun Ranges.
• No incendiary or explosive rounds are to be fired on the range.
• In certain circumstances a law enforcement entity or group who has rented the facility may use shotguns in the Outdoor Handgun Range under strict supervision.
• Hanging targets must be hung so bullets will not strike the cable. Use a target holder to hold targets so all bullets go safely into the berm.
• Do not climb onto the berms.
• IMMEDIATELY report any damage to a Board of Director member.
• All debris, including but not limited to (shell casings, targets, wood, paper, cardboard), need to be properly disposed of or recycled. DO NOT fill up a trash can and leave it there, bring it to the dumpster! Broken target frames can either be properly disposed of or burned in a barrel.
• A monetary fee or mandatory work shall be levied against any member, non member, group or entity that fails to properly clean up after each and every event. A club representative and group representative will inspect the ranges before and after each and every event.

Outdoor Rifle Ranges

• All shooters shall properly wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment while using the range.
• Please always be aware of other shooters and onlookers to make sure that they are properly wearing their Personal Protection Equipment before you fire.
• OnlyMassachusetts compliant weapons and magazines are allowed.
• Any / All fully automatic weapons must only be fired or possessed by licensed personnel, and only after notifying an Executive Officer or Board Member for permission.
• No explosive or incediary rounds are to be fired.
• OnlyBoard of Directors approved targets shall be usedin the outdoor rifle ranges. There is zero tolerance for the use of any other targets. All targets shall be approved by the Board of Directors before use.
• Paper, cardboard, and hanging targets are allowed only on the extreme left 100 yd. range and targets need to be placed or hung so the cables do not get damaged. Please report any damage to a cable immediately to a Board member.
• Do not climb on the 100 yd berm.
• Do not shoot at poles or place targets on them as there is zero tolerance for this act of hanging targets on the poles.
• Only shoot breakable targets such as clay birds or water filled plastic jugs or other such Board of Director authorized targets on the 200 yd and extreme right range.
• Only place targets so that each and every bullet goes into the berm and not over the berm or into the lawn.
• All debris shall be properly disposed of, and a monetary fee or madatory work shall be levied against any member, non member or renting entity or group that fails to properly clean up after shooting. A club representative and group representative will inspect the ranges before and after each and every event.
• Immediately report any damage to the range to a Board member immediately.

Archery

• Any current member or properly registered guest of a member may do archery on the designated areas only and must make sure of the backstop and what is beyond.

Trap and Skeet

• Properly worn Personal Protection Equipment, shall be worn at all times.
• Please always be aware of other shooters and onlookers to make sure that they are properly wearing their Personal Protection Equipment before you fire.
• Do not shoot at the trap or skeet houses.
• All debris shall be properly disposed of and a monetary fee or mandatory work shall be levied against any member, non member or renting entity or group that fails to properly clean up after shooting. A club representative and group representative will inspect the ranges before and after each and every event.
